Breath of fire, otherwise known as Kapalabhati, is an effective breathing technique (pranayama) that is used in a variety of yoga practices, although it is most common to kundalini yoga, a form of yoga that was introduced to the west by Yogi Bhaja. The powerful breath is fast and rhythmic involving the stomach muscles to project energy (kundalini) from the base of the spine to the third eye located at the center of our foreheads and though our crown chakra at the top of our head. The breath consists of short powerful exhales, followed by passive inhales.
