This popular diet, relatively new on the market, focuses on maintaining an optimal body pH, by limiting acid-producing foods and promoting the ingestion of alkaline-inducing alternatives. For those who follow an alkaline diet, finding the right balance is key and it can mean living a healthy, fulfilling life.

Foods, such as lentils, onion, pineapple, sweet potato, watermelon and raspberries are highly alkaline, making great compliments to any meal and you can even add lime, lemon, sea salt, baking soda and vegetable juices for an added alkaline kick. The list of acceptable foods is quite extensive, so following the diet won’t be as hard as you think. As long as you are avoiding excessive amounts of acidic foods like breads, dairy products, meats and poultry, then you are on your way to achieving positive results.
