ZenWalk – A walking meditation in the jungle
The grounds of the Garza Blanca Preserve are home to a unique ZenWalk, which can be enjoyed as a walking meditation while staying at either Garza Blanca Resort or Hotel Mousai. The ZenWalk is made up of sculptures and statues collected by the preserve’s owner-director on his travels that have been placed around the grounds to allow for the most beneficial circulation of energy as well as your enjoyment.
The lush, tropical gardens of the Garza Blanca Preserve are home to hundreds of species of birds and plants as well as the statues. Some of these statues are very easy to find, like those at the pools or along the pathways to the Hotel Mousai and BocaDos STK restaurant, but some are much harder to find and are located further into the landscape of the preserve. To participate in the ZenWalk, you do not need to visit all of the statues but there is a mini guide for you to follow which details a route, the locations of all the statues and a brief description of them.

How does a walking meditation work? Well, as the name implies, a walking meditation involves using the act of walking and the regulation of breathing to become more acutely aware of the elements of the world around you and of your senses. By tuning into the world, its sights, sounds and smells, you can move further along your path to inner peace, and come away with a gentler and more contented outlook. The Zen Walk also has benches placed at various places along the pathway where you can rest and contemplate the meaning of each sculpture.
